Job description

Canadian Executive Search Group is looking for a Payroll and Benefits Coordinator in our St. Thomas client's facility with 2 or more years of Payroll and Benefits experience.

About the Role

Perform the administration of payroll, benefits, group savings plan and pension processes and services according to policy. Responsible for weekly payroll preparation, benefit enrolment and reconciliation.


Who we are looking for

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field.

  • Must have a minimum 2 years of Payroll and Benefits administration experience within the past 2 years.

  • Ceridian Dayforce and/or Workday experience an asset

  • System Integration experience an asset

  • System implementation an asset

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties and promote oneself in a manner that reflects the company's expectations, Visions/Values through the Employee Charter.

  • Follow and abide by all government, Legal, rules and regulations.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.

  • Safeguard all financial/personnel documents and keep all financial/personnel matters private and confidential.

  • Establish internal controls as required, and identify and recommend improvements to controls and systems.

  • Overall responsibility to maintain payroll master file by collecting and entering personal payroll data relating to each Team Member.

  • Maintain accurate records of all earnings, deductions, statistics, etc. for each Team Member and preparation of reports on this data.

  • Maintain Team Member benefit and personal information master file within Human Resource Information Systems.

  • Administration of Team Member Group Benefits program including; medical and dental coverages and insurances such as Life, AD&D, Critical Illness and Long Term Disability plans.

  • Administration of in-house paid Short Term Absence plan.

  • Facilitate the annual open enrollment process, conduct open enrollment meetings and coordinate the distribution and collection of documents as required.

  • Assist Team Members with benefits claims

  • Liaison between the insurance provider, Health Centre, and Team Member.

  • Review, edit, and report on weekly hours processing for 1400+ hourly and salary Team Members utilizing the Time & Attendance software program.

  • Preparation of month end billings and reporting.

  • Collection and administration of Family Responsibility and garnishment payments.

  • Prepare pay-outs and reconciliations of monthly/yearly bonuses, yearly banks, EEPPP allocations based on company policy

  • Support all questions and requests regarding payroll/benefits administration.

  • Facilitate new hire orientation; provide guidance to new Team Members, and assist in the enrolment process of company benefit plans.

  • Assist with internal and external year end reporting requirements and EEPPP calculation and reporting to corporate.

  • Perform duties as back up support to the Training Coordinator position.

  • Assist Training Coordinator with data management (input and filing).

  • Perform internal and external system and data audits.

  • Participate in training provided by Corporate or outside vendors

  • Perform other duties as designated.
