Location is flexible, within Alberta, dependent on the successful applicant.

However, periodically may be asked to work in Lacombe or other AFSC branches. Travel in these circumstances will be reimbursed according to AFSC's Employee and Board of Directors Expense Policy.

The People and Culture, Initiatives Lead is a new role within the Talent and Development team, bringing valuable expertise for an 18-month term. Reporting directly to the Vice President of People Services, this role is strategically designed to drive the successful implementation of key workforce planning initiatives, with a primary emphasis on formulating and executing a comprehensive recruitment strategy. Beyond workforce planning, the Supervisor will play a crucial role in guaranteeing the effective execution of objectives outlined in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) and Mental Health strategies as well as engagement and Culture work. This position demands a proactive approach, strong leadership, and a commitment to ensuring organizational goals align seamlessly with our dynamic workplace initiatives.

This temporary role presents a unique opportunity for professional growth within the Talent and Development team at AFSC, potentially leading to further leadership opportunities through our succession program.

What will your growth opportunities look like in this role?

In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving key workforce planning initiatives, with a major focus on crafting and executing a robust recruitment strategy. Beyond that, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the successful implementation of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) and Mental Health strategies, as well as engagement and Culture initiatives. The 18-month term offers a unique chance for professional growth within the Talent and Development team, potentially opening doors to further leadership roles through our succession program.

What will you be responsible for?

Your responsibilities will be diverse and impactful. You'll be tasked with developing and executing a recruitment strategy, supporting workforce planning initiatives, and ensuring the effective execution of DE&I and Mental Health objectives. This involves collaborating with various stakeholders, leading diversity and inclusion efforts, and contributing to a positive organizational culture. The role also demands a proactive approach to aligning overarching goals with the evolving needs of our dynamic workplace.

Education & Experience

  • Post Secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources Management or in other related discipline.
  • 10+ years of combined education & experience.
  • CPHR designation would be an asset.
