First Capital’s Intern Program gives young professionals access to enriching opportunities to start and accelerate their careers. Our program is uniquely hands-on, allowing Interns to work alongside our leaders on exciting new projects and strategies. In addition to day-to-day projects, Interns will have access to a series of learning and networking events, mentorship sessions, an end of term Capstone Project, and much more. Our goal is to leave all our program graduates with a full, 360 understanding of our business.
- Support the People & Culture team with all administration and coordination of different functions, initiatives, and ad-hoc projects.
- Manage the People & Culture Inbox by resolving and responding to employees’ inquiries in a timely manner. Where necessary, triaging inquiries to the appropriate team members.
- Draft general forms, letters, reports, and memos as necessary.
- Assist with national orientation and training programs, and Health & Safety coordination and compliance.
- Support full-cycle recruitment administration by creating internal and external postings, interview coordination, conducting pre-screen interviews, and preparing offers.
- Initiate and participate in projects, both planned and ad hoc, to improve practices and procedures.
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, with a specific interest in pursuing further education in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related fields.
- Demonstrated interest in Human Resources, Organizational Development or ED&I.
- You have excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate across all levels both within and outside of First Capital.
- You demonstrate outstanding organizational capabilities and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- As a self-starter, you have a willingness to learn in a dynamic environment and are eager to grow your exposure to new technology and processes, taking any opportunity to acquire new skills.
- You have strong computer skills, including an excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
