Job description

As part of a dynamic, fast paced team, the Performance Audit analyst would report to and work with the Director of Process Improvement & Business Development. Assessing the performance of all the Homestar group organizations, including their efficiency, effectiveness, and economy, based on compliance with relevant procedures and policy, best practices, and other criteria. The successful candidate would first focus on KPI/ Scorecard development and tracking. The goal being then to make recommendations and point out areas where things are inefficient and need improvements. This may include offering a recommendation or just outlining the issues.

During a year, the Performance Audit Analyst can typically expect to participate in multiple audits, some ongoing, and some a “spot check”, helping to develop the audit plans, collect and analyze data and prepare and present the final report to the director.
The Performance Audit Analyst is required to apply the principles of Performance Audit standards and techniques, research methodologies, program evaluation and strategic planning and performance reporting along with organizational behavior, to assess the organization’s ability to achieve its desired outputs or outcomes efficiently and effectively. The information is used to determine if gaps, overlaps or risks threaten the overall quality of information and the ultimate outcomes of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop internal data and tracker audit scope and audit plans.
  • Develop, implement, and track corporate KPI’s.
  • Develop, implement, and track corporate scorecards.
  • Automate KPI’s and scorecards – daily, weekly, monthly, yearly.
  • Creation of “Exception” reports or highlight/flag existing reports/KPI’s/scorecards.
  • Acquire, analyze, and evaluate the tracked information we currently have on file, and identify inefficiencies/ inconsistencies within the business.
  • Prepare and present reports that reflect audit results and document process.
  • Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality, and goal achievement.
  • Identify loopholes and share risk aversion methods and cost savings.
  • Maintain open communication with management.
  • Document process and prepare audit findings memorandum.
  • Conduct follow up audits.

Qualifications

  • Data analysis experience, preferred.
  • Work with little supervision.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Excellent analysis and data reporting skills
  • High level interpersonal skills
  • Proven work experience in data collection, comparison and identifying inefficiencies.
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office and databases

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
