We provide support to a 48 year-old woman who is confined to an electric wheelchair but despite these challenges is fun-loving, very adventurous and likes to get out and get the best out of life! Her household includes her very loving dog and cat.

Job description

To provide support in all aspects of daily life.

Duties:

• Assisting client with personal hygiene, toileting, bathing and getting dressed including safely operating a lift and doing transfers.
• Assisting client with housekeeping.
• Providing companionship and emotional support.
• Preparing food and feeding client.
• Administering medication.
• Transporting client to appointments and other daily errands.
• Providing support with social and recreational activities.
• Providing pet care including taking the dog out for short daily walks.

Training for lift equipment and other adaptive devices will be provided as part of orientation.

Current openings:

1 part time position for mostly weekday evenings and a couple mornings including one weekend.

1 relief position which could be called upon for a morning, evening or weekend.

Morning shifts are 10am-1pm. Evening shifts are 5-11pm.

Requirements:

• Clean criminal records check no more than one year old
• Minimum of class 5 Driver's License and a clean driving record
• Two reference letters
• Optional: valid Canadian passport or (other passport + visa) in case of travel to the US

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: From $17.80 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 30 per week

Schedule:

• Evening shift
• Morning shift
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• personal care: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Driver's License (required)
