We are currently looking to expand our team and need a candidate(s) who will pride themselves on providing great customer service, use their knowledge and skill to find creative insurance solutions, who is looking to learn and grow in the insurance business and is a team player looking to join a local company.
To excel at this position, the individual will be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, possess good computer skills, have the ability to multi-task and be well organized. They will hold a minimum Level 1 insurance license for Nova Scotia and have experience in the business.
As part of our Personal Lines team, you will:
- Service on-going client needs: respond to customer inquiries, provide quotes, give advice on insurance matters including claims, insurance needs and coverage recommendations
- Quote New Clients and Write new business
- Prepare documents for insurers, complete submissions, issue insurance certificates, process changes and payments
- Data entry - for new business and policy changes
- Learn and understand the underwriting rules and limitations for each of the companies our brokerage represents
- Discuss clients / quotes / policies with Underwriters and Adjusters, as needed
- Learn the guidelines of the insurance companies the brokerage represents
Qualifications:
- High School or Post Secondary Education
- A valid Level 1 insurance license for the Province of Nova Scotia and a minimum of 1 year experience in the business
- Working knowledge of Power Broker and Applied
- Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Excellent customer service and relationship management
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Commitment to continual learning
- Drive to achieve a level 3 insurance license
