Personal Support Worker (Full-Time, Temporary)

Nipissing Serenity Hospice is currently accepting applications for a full-time Personal Support Worker (temporary until approximately April 2024).

Nipissing Serenity Hospice is a 10-bed, bilingual, residential hospice located in North Bay, Ontario serving the residents of the Nipissing and East Parry Sound Districts. The Hospice provides around the clock palliative care by an expert multi-disciplinary team in a peaceful setting for people of all ages at the end of life. Support is also extended to caregivers and families. At Nipissing Serenity Hospice we strive to ensure compassion, comfort and dignity at end of life.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Personal Support Worker will primarily be responsible to follow the individualized resident based care plan, observing and reporting any substantial findings and/or changes in resident’s behaviour to the appropriate registered member of the healthcare team.

This position will collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care and support in consultation with individuals and their families. This role will also respect and protect the rights of clients, including but not limited to their right to independence, autonomy, and self-determination; their right to choose and practice individual values, beliefs, religion, and culture; their right to privacy and dignity.
