Pesticide Applicator/Spray Truck Operator

The Municipal District of Peace No. 135 is accepting applications for one (1) seasonal Pesticide Applicator/Spray Truck Operator position for a tentative duration of May 13, 2024, to September 27, 2024. The duration is tentative, subject to conditions and budget. This position is under the supervision of the Manager of Agricultural Services and is responsible for the spraying of weeds and brush on MD owned property including roadsides, parks, cemeteries, and/or any other assigned duty. Requirements: The successful candidate has good record keeping skills, is detail-oriented, understands legal land location on map, has a valid class 5 driver’s license with current driver’s abstract, is able to mix herbicide as per instructions and spray, is able to load, transport and unload quad and/or spray utility vehicle, can troubleshoot mechanical problems, can undertake basic truck maintenance, is able to work independently or as part of a team, understands weeds, pests, and pesticides, is able to perform medium lifting of 25 kgs, and can perform strenuous work outdoors for extended periods.

A pesticide applicator certificate is considered an asset but is not required
