We are seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Technician to join our client. The role includes executing scheduled preventative maintenance, conducting routine plant monitoring, and accurately recording actions taken. You'll diagnose and repair malfunctioning machinery systems, perform building maintenance tasks, and assemble equipment using hand and power tools. Utilizing your expertise, you'll troubleshoot, repair, and install processing equipment with a keen understanding of electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret work orders for successful completion of scheduled preventative maintenance,
- Conduct routine plant monitoring and checks according to maintenance schedules, accurately
- Diagnose and repair malfunctioning systems on machinery equipment, including AC/DC motors and
vacuum pumps, and other plant systems.
- Perform building maintenance tasks, such as drains blockage removal, water supply, garage doors, and
- Assemble machinery and equipment before installation using hand and power tools and welding
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install processing equipment with a working knowledge of electrical
- Assist with inventory management for critical replacement parts.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legislative and food safety, health and safety, and environmental
- Attend and actively participate in training sessions.
- Perform other miscellaneous administrative tasks as instructed.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Food Manufacturing Environment.
- Familiarity with food plant equipment maintenance, including PLC controls, packaging and sealing
- Experience with meat processing equipment is considered an asset.
- Experience in maintaining accurate and complete maintenance record documentation.
- Certification as a Millwright, with familiarity and experience in electrical work, OR Certification as an
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to prioritize tasks under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
