At RM Mobile, the Plant Maintenance Technician will support concrete projects throughout Alberta by preforming general concrete Plant Maintenance, demobilization, and remobilization. The Plant Maintenance Technician should be well versed in the mechanical operation and maintenance of a concrete batch plant and have a safety conscious mind-set.

Responsibilities:

• Preform and/or coordinate preventative maintenance on plant equipment to minimize production downtime.
• Triage and troubleshoot mechanical issues with plant equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to plant equipment.
• Dismantle and reassemble mobile plants and equipment in preparation for repairs and/or transportation.
• Supervise, lead, and direct plant team towards completion of daily tasks, operational effectiveness, and maintenance activities.
• Align and calibrate machinery and equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation of the plant.
• Perform manual labour responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain a safe working environment including completing daily HSE reports, identifying current and potential hazards, reviewing safety policies with the team, coordinating with Safety Advisors, etc.
• General housekeeping and yard work.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years prior experience working in the concrete industry, preferrable at a batch plant.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems such as chutes, conveyors, and other plant equipment.
• Ability to preform general maintenance on plant equipment.
• Valid class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract is required.
• CSTS Certification is an asset.
• Journeyperson Millwright or Welder designation or relevant experience is an asset.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Kneeling, crawling, bending, and other physical movements are frequently required.
• Work takes place in a plant setting, both indoors and outdoors.

Hours of Work:

• Hours of work in this position may vary to accommodate customer needs including day shift, afternoon shift, and night shift.
• Overtime may be required, especially during the busy construction season (summer months).
• Frequent travel to project sites is required.
• Typical shifts are 10 days on and 4 days off, although, this may vary by project.
