ABOUT THE JOB

Marid Industries Limited is seeking an energetic and engaged Plant Operations Manager to join and lead our
Production team.

This is an exciting and challenging full-time opportunity for an individual to join our growing business. As part of the Marid Production team, you will lead Marid’s shop production, purchasing and logistics groups to safely fabricate and ship structural steel and miscellaneous metals. The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with Marid’s Estimating, Engineering, Project Managers, Site Installation and Finance groups to help Marid continue to grow and prosper.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain and further develop a culture of safety that ensures that everyone at Marid is working safely.
• Lead, coach and mentor staff to help them develop and grow.
• Ensure that production is carried out in conformance with applicable codes and quality standards.
• Plan and direct the activities of the production shop and establish production priorities in conjunction with

Project Managers.

• Optimize the flow of production to ensure finished material is fabricated as efficiently as possible.
• Review, analyze and optimizer shop processes and layout to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Monitor and report on shop productivity.
• Work together with Marid’s Management team on implementing and achieving Marid’s strategic goals.
• Manage front line supervisors such as Foremen & Lead Hands to ensure they and production staff are following company policies at all times.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPEREINCE

• Experience in metal fabrication & familiarity with welding processes.
• Understanding of or training in Lean manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and under pressure, often with tight deadlines.
• Understanding of HR processes and current labour practices and codes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Solid math and analytical thinking abilities.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
