Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of Plate Roll Operator in our Nisku, AB location.

Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete pre-inspection equipment reports before each shift
• Perform all tasks safely and as directed
• Comply with all workplace policies including health and safety
• Be a team player
• Perform all tasks in a professional respectful manner
• Any other tasks that may be assigned by management
• Participate in all company directed training
• Responsible for selecting the correct material sheet and plate
• Minimize material usage by calculating proper nesting patterns and cutting times to maximize profit.

Requirements:

• Education: High School Diploma / Grade 12 or equivalent
• Work Experience:MUST HAVE 2+ years of Plate Rolling experience
• MUST HAVE:Previous Crane experience
• May be required to work rotating shifts
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Ability to operate the overhead crane and forklift
• Ability to operate press brakes would be ideal.
• Proficient in performing mathematical calculations with ability to read a tape measure / calipers
• Self motivated, results oriented

Hourly Rate: $35.97 / hr
