Job Description Plumbing Foreman
Job Overview:
The Plumbing Foreman is responsible for managing a team of Plumbing Apprentices and Journeymen and overseeing all plumbing projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven track record of successfully managing plumbing projects in Manitoba, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
● Manage a team of Plumbing Apprentices and Journeymen, including assigning tasks and ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard
● Oversee all plumbing projects, including new installations, repairs, and maintenance work
● Ensure that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client
● Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all necessary materials and equipment are available for each project
● Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers in Manitoba
● Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with relevant safety regulations in Manitoba and our company Health and Safety policies
● Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including time sheets, invoices, and project reports
● Provide regular progress reports to the management team
Specific job duties include:
● Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems and materials required
● Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, valves, fixtures, and appliances
● Troubleshoot plumbing issues and provide solutions to ensure the efficient and effective operation of plumbing systems
● Estimate material and labour costs for plumbing projects and prepare detailed project reports for clients
● Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement policies and procedures for the plumbing department
● Keep up-to-date with new plumbing technologies, codes, and regulations in Manitoba
● Train and mentor Plumbing Apprentices and Journeymen to ensure that they are skilled and knowledgeable in all aspects of plumbing work
● Communicate with clients to provide updates on project status and ensure that their needs are being met
● Perform other duties as assigned by the management team
Requirements:
● Must have full Red Seal plumber certification
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
● Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team
● Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively
● Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings in accordance with Manitoba codes and regulations
● Knowledge of relevant safety regulations in Manitoba and the ability to ensure that all work is completed in compliance with these regulations
● Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation
● Legally entitled to work in Manitoba, Canada
