Duties:
- Enforce laws and maintain public order
- Patrol assigned areas to deter crime and ensure the safety of the community
- Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and make arrests when necessary
- Write detailed reports documenting incidents and actions taken
- Testify in court proceedings as required
- Engage in community policing activities to build positive relationships with residents
Requirements:
- Must be a graduate of the Atlantic Police Academy or other recognized Police Cadet Training Institution, or have previous police officer experience within the last 24 months
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Must be at least 19 years old
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Physical fitness and the ability to meet the physical demands of the job
