The Employment Standards branch requires an enthusiastic, highly motivated Policy Analyst to apply their knowledge of employment legislation and sector issues to coordinate and develop internal written material, presentations, resources, and databases to guide the consistent application of legislation, policies and procedures, as well as prepare statistical and analytical reports and visualizations for your trend analysis and program design. You will also participate in jurisdictional research into trends and initiatives.
As the successful candidate, working under tight deadlines, you will collaboratively work with management and professional staff within the division, Ministry, government and other jurisdictions to research and analyze issues and prepare documents, resources, correspondence and reports related to divisional programs and services. You will develop and prepare ad hoc queries and statistical reports for trend analysis. You will research, collect, and manage information from ministry staff and other jurisdictions to be used to develop approaches and procedures for program and service delivery. Your sound sense of judgment and discretion will be essential as this position requires you to respond and develop appropriate responses to requests for information and referrals.
The successful candidate will be a proactive, client service-oriented, conceptual thinker and sound communicator who keeps their audience in mind.
Typically, the research knowledge and analytical and communication abilities required for this position would be obtained by completing a degree in business administration, public policy, communications, the social sciences or a related discipline, supplemented by related experience. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and D365 would be an asset.
