Applications will be screened for interviews, based on the “essential” education, occupational certification, language and experience criteria identified below. Duties
- Provide water operator, maintenance and repair services for the operation of several small Water Systems.
- Operate and maintain water facility systems and equipment. The duties include collecting samples, performing biological sample analysis, performing multiple phase adjustments to systems and processes, report, elaborate and discuss finding and make adjustments and prepare and submit sampling and analysis results to quality control facilities.
- Trouble shooting of scada and other remote and local sensing systems.
- Perform systems, equipment and machinery inspections and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Research product information from trade and supplier catalogues and prepare basic cost estimates for maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment or components and make recommendations to supervisor for review.
- Assist trades with start-up and shut down of seasonal facilities and operation of the system throughout the year.

Intent of the process
The results of this process will be used to fill a temporary vacancy and may be used in the future to fill permanent or temporary vacancies that may arise at the EG 03 in the Lake Louise, Yoho & Kootenay Field Unit, in various locations, with full or part-time hours for various tenures, such as: Indeterminate, Term, Acting Assignment or Assignment at level, depending on status of the selected candidate.

- Graduation from an accredited Water and Wastewater Technician Program or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
Degree equivalency
- Experience supervising a small team.
- Willingness to wear identifier clothing and safety equipment;
- Willingness to travel and/or work in a variety of weather conditions and terrain for extended periods of time;
- Willingness to perform work throughout the entire geographic area of Lake Louise, Yoho & Kootenay Field Unit;
- Willingness to complete First Aid Certification and CPR/AED.
Conditions of employment
- Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance;
- Possession and maintenance of a valid class 5 driver’s license or provincial equivalent;
- Will be required to undergo and pass pre-placement and periodic medical checks;
- Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
