Job Purpose and Impact

The Poultry Sales and Nutrition Support will maintain and grow the poultry feed sales by building strong relationships with producers and providing superior service through world class technical advice in nutrition, environment, and overall management. Territory will cover Central and Southern Alberta, along with Southwest of Saskatchewan. In this role, you will conduct face to face and remote sales with new and existing customers and assist in evaluating customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services and solutions, including creating producer specific nutrition program.

Key Accountabilities

  • Establish and build producer relationships.
  • Provide nutrition support to egg producers serviced by our poultry team, while growing and servicing a clientele of your own.
  • Manage diet changes to maximize bird productivity and profitability (strong resources for egg producers).
  • Work closely with nutritionist to develop and implement nutrition solutions for our producers.
  • Monitor and respond to customer concerns and problems.
  • Handle a variety of moderately complex problems, referring to policies and practices for guidance.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of related work experience, in nutrition, and/or sales, and/or poultry industry
  • Self-starter with high degree of initiative to succeed while maintaining ability to function in a team environment
  • Must be able to travel within Alberta and Saskatchewan, overnight trips (expect 4-8 nights per month depending on home location).  Occasional travel within Canada as required to attend meetings and conferences
  • Able to solve multifactorial problems, demonstrated analytical thought process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four years of poultry industry sales experience
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a sales territory
  • Agricultural background 
  • Poultry experience 
  • Post secondary education in sciences or agriculture
