Pre-employment Training Facilitator

Job Summary

The Pre-employment Training Facilitator is a full-time contract position that will provide a variety of training and pre-employment related services in a highly professional, client-centric manner. Reporting to our Manager of Employment Services, our pre-employment Training Facilitators are responsible for client intake and assessment, career coaching and case management, supporting clients by assisting to identify training options, job search and readiness assistance, employment journey plan development, training and facilitation of workshops and information sessions for clients.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Meet and engage with clients to determine each individual’s training wants and needs, and establish an action plan based on these needs.
  • Develop, implement and follow-through with training and pre-employment goals for each client
  • Assist clients with exploration of interests, skills, training, experience, education, apprenticeships, career options etc.
  • Assist clients with Better Jobs Ontario applications or applications for alternate training options / sources
  • Assist the client with tools for when they do become job-ready, such as resumes, applications, interviews, job search strategies and training records
  • Prepare workshop materials and facilitate sessions relating to career and training development
  • Provide individualized and group instruction to each learner and promote interactive learning
  • Case management (electronic/paper), including but not limited to reports using various database applications and client retention tracking.
  • Ability to promote client retention and client stewardship by following-up and remaining engaged with clients during and after their needs are met
  • Maintain knowledge of current labour market trends as well as the various resources in our community that can assist clients with their employment goals
  • Meet and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly targets
  • Exceptional file maintenance including case noting and CATS/CAMS entry
  • Promote programs and services to attract new clients, as well as promote a positive environment within PC Works and LBS programing
  • Coverage of resource area and reception desk when required
  • Maintain professional behavior and report behavior that is in conflict with agency and office policies
  • All other duties as assigned by our Employment Services manager

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Hands-on experience with recruitment or recruitment practices within a human resourcing or training related position
  • Completion of post-secondary education in human resources, training or a related field
  • Passionate and engaged in helping our clients with any training or employment related needs, with the ability to create a respectful, trusting and supportive rapport with said clients
  • Respect and sensitivity for cultural, educational, diversity and social uniqueness
  • Efficiently and appropriately gauge the transferable skills of a client with potential job opportunities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and with a heavy caseload.
  • Strong computer skills with various software applications and internet-based search engines, as well as proficiency with the ability to work with and deliver computerized learning programs
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating workshops
  • Outstanding attention to accuracy and detail orientated when case noting and filing management/documentation
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively and efficient pick up the phone and reach out to job-ready clients with employment opportunities
  • Ability to work independently, and to remain accountable when working as part of a collaborative team
  • Superior organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Working knowledge of the LBS Service, Employment Ontario and Fedcap Program Guidelines is an asset
  • Niagara Regional Police Clearance Certification required

Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.92 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
