Position :Preventative Maintenance Technician (Apprentice)
Reports to :Preventative Maintenance Manager
Duties
- Assist with inspecting and diagnosing any current and/or potential issues in regards to loading docks, overhead doors and doors (commercial/industrial)
- Assist with making recommendations in accordance with manufacturers safety recommendations
- Assisting with completing minor repairs to loading docks, overhead doors and doors (commercial/industrial)
- Assisting to ensure all paperwork (i.e. work orders, inspection sheets, etc.) is completed neatly and accurately
- Assisting to ensure pictures are taken in accordance with PSP department standards
- Assisting to maintain mechanical and physical condition of service equipment
- Provide excellent customer service and communication
- Review inspection findings with customer while on site
- Assisting to review any major safety concerns found during inspection with customer and advise the office of potential service call
- Travel in Preventative Maintenance truck from job site to job site
- Continue to update qualifications as technology changes
- Perform work assignments in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulations
- Responsible for adhering to the company’s health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Assist other service technicians to diagnosis and repair customer equipment as required
- Keep workplace clean, clear and safe
- Ensure that tools and equipment are in good working condition and secure.
- Complete daily truck log and trailer log books to comply with CVOR
- Maintain all required certificates i.e. WHMIS – Scissor lift – Ladder etc
- Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures
- Other duties as reasonable assigned.
Skills Required
- Mechanically inclined (comfortable using hand and power tools).
- Good communication, interpersonal and written skills
- Self starter and motivator, team player with positive attitude
- Ability to work in high applications such as with ladders or scissor lifts
- Ability to work with heavy lifting
- Valid drivers license in good standing a requirement
- Minimum high school (or equivalent) plus mechanical post secondary training preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
