Under the supervision of the Manager of the residence, the Residential Primary Support Staff is responsible to advocate and provide direct support for people in our care. They provide support to the individuals living in the community and foster development of the residents to their fullest potential. They will ensure that the philosophy of socialization and inclusion is maintained and a level of independence, based on the person’s ability, is encouraged. You will be responsible for the development of the ISP in conjunction with family members and the support community. Must work within the culture of the home and demonstrate leadership qualities and respect and demonstrate the ability to create a positive working environment, which is critical in providing the best supports possible to the people living in the home.
Qualifications and Prior Experience:
- Minimum requirement is Grade 12 or GED, ideally completed or enrolled in DSW (Development Service Worker) program or related post-secondary program.
- Valid G Class Driver's License
- Prior experience supporting people with development disabilities in a residential setting
- Prior experience in a leadership role is an asset
- Prior experience developing and implementing Individual Support Plans (ISPs) is an asset
Hours:
Week 1: Monday through Friday: 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Week 2: Monday through Friday: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Week 3: Monday through Friday: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Week 4:Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday and Friday off. Tuesday to Thursday: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
