Principal of Eckville Elementary School
The effective date will be determined once a suitable candidate has been selected.
Eckville Elementary School has a school staff of approximately twelve teachers and nine support staff. It serves approximately 191 students by providing a learning environment using innovative and collaborative educational practices for Kindergarten to Grade 6.
The principal selection committee is seeking an innovative and visionary leader with an excellent background as a classroom teacher and administrator in Kindergarten - Grade 6 environments.
The ideal candidate will possess exemplary interpersonal skills and a commitment to building and promoting a collaborative environment. The new principal of Eckville Elementary School will be expected to continue to build on a proud tradition where the school actively partners with its community to develop the best educational experience possible for students.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in the following areas:
Evidence of exemplary interpersonal skills
Evidence of a commitment towards building and promoting collaborative environments.
Evidence of establishing structures and supports focused on concurrent academic and social/emotional interventions
Evidence of leadership experience with diverse students.
Evidence of experience working with First Nations, Métis & Inuit families and communities.
Evidence of strong foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis & Inuit for the benefit of all students.
Evidence of a minimum 50% completion of a Master’s Degree Program with a firm completion timeline of no longer than 18 months.
Evidence of a thorough understanding and application of current educational research.
Evidence of high expectations for student achievement, literacy assessment, and effective literacy programming and interventions.
Evidence of a commitment to leading and supporting professional development and school improvement initiatives aligned with jurisdictional and provincial directions.
Evidence of a thorough understanding of how technology can facilitate learning.
Evidence of LQS Certification (Completion or Pathways to Certification workshop, or evidence of credentials)
Evidence of successful experience as an assistant principal or principal.

The new principal of Eckville Elementary School will also be expected to actively participate within the Wolf Creek Administrators’ Association and demonstrate a strong commitment toward our school district vision.
