Private Chef Contractor
- Prepare and cook meals according to the client's preferences and dietary restrictions
- Plan menus and create meal plans based on the client's needs
- Shop for groceries and ensure the kitchen is well-stocked with fresh ingredients
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
- Coordinate with other client staff and/or company staff to ensure smooth meal service
- Provide exceptional service and ensure client satisfaction
- Adapt recipes to accommodate food allergies or special requests
- Stay up-to-date with culinary trends and techniques

- Provide excellent execution of service during events. This includes setting the table, serving, communicating with clients and guests, pouring water and drinks.

- Engaging with clients and other colleagues in a professional manner

Experience
- Previous experience as a Private Chef or in a similar role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety, and sanitation practices is required
- Proficient in various cooking techniques and cuisines is required
- Ability to create menus that cater to different dietary needs and preferences is required
- Experience in team management and supervising kitchen staff is preferred
- Familiarity with restaurant management or hospitality principles is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is required

- The ideal candidate must be punctual, well groomed and professional at all events when working this InHaus Cooking clients, staff, vendors

- Taking initiative and having a sense of urgency is required

- Attention to detail and good at following instruction is required

- Smart serve certificate is required

- Culinary education is preferred

- Food handling certificate is required

- Having a personal vehicle and valid drivers license is required for employment

The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for cooking and creating delicious meals. They should be able to work independently, manage their time effectively, and have excellent communication skills. Additionally, they should be able to adapt to changing schedules and be flexible with their availability.

This Job

- Initial preparation will always take place at our commercial kitchen in Kanata. All events take place at homes and venues around the Ottawa region.

- This position is solely a contractor position. Hours are not guaranteed.

- The contractor will be scheduled on a per-event basis and must provide notice ahead of time if they can not commit to the event.

- This position will start by working closely with the executive chef and sous chef and if all standards are met we will begin scheduling the candidate for solo events through InHaus Cooking

Salary: $17.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
