Background

• White Point Golf Club is a picturesque 9-hole par 35 / 36 golf course located on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. It has been in operation since 1932 and offers a challenging level of play for any skill level. It also offers some of the most beautiful golfing scenery in the province, with the Atlantic Ocean views available to be enjoyed from most holes.
• The successful candidate will be trained and participate in all day-to-day operations of the Pro Shop for the 2024 Golf Season, ensuring that our guests enjoy their experience. You will be part of a team of retail associates in creating that authentic personal connection with our guests as soon as they walk through the door. You work exceptionally well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced, multi-faceted operation, with a focus on ensuring the behind the scenes aspects of the business are taken care of, while modelling pride in service excellence.

Brief Job Description

• Devoting your scheduled time and best efforts to the duties as a Pro Shop Attendant.
• Providing a clean and safe work environment for staff and customers.
• Tee time and Cart bookings and management with some light reporting.
• Efficient club storage and retrieval for members, and cleaning for rental clubs/carts.
• Start of day opening and/or end of day closing of POS and some reporting.
• Food and beverage storage, sales, and accurate cash management.
• Excellent Customer service for patrons using the services or amenities of the course.
• Maintain courteous and professional relationship with other staff and patrons of WPGC.

Required qualifications and skills:

• High school diploma or minimum age of 19.
• Reliable, responsive, positive attitude, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours - weekends, evenings, and holidays on a rotating schedule.
• Experience with operating Point of Sales Systems (an asset, but not required).
• Literacy with basic Computer Skills, i.e. Word, Excel, and Electronic Mail.
• Literacy with Social Media platforms.

Requirements of the position that you should be aware of:

• We will be performing background checks as a condition of employment.
• Physical requirements include walking, sitting, standing, and crouching while performing duties.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and otherwise moving golf clubs, and objects up to 50lbs. in weight.
• Accepting receivables and retaining packing slips of such.

Compensation

• $16.00 / hour with a minimum of 30 hrs. per week.
