POSITION SUMMARY:
The Process Improvement Intern (PII) will support the continuous improvement team at the Rexdale/Courtland sites in Rexdale/Vaughan. The PII is accountable for supporting Process Improvement initiatives and delivering world class process design and improvements to support business. This role will address ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for employees as well as assisting the team in delivering new process introductions, operational cost savings, and capacity improvements. Further, tasks may include supporting the team to increase plant and office process efficiency, optimize resource utilization, and eliminate process variability and wastes.
DUTIES:
1. Provide support for process engineering engineers on a variety of day to day and project support tasks including drawings and specification development, documentation and other design and support activities
2. Provide point of contact support for day-to-day operations activities and perform basic troubleshooting, fact-finding and root cause analysis
3. Maintain and manage production tooling assets
4. Environmental Health and Safety Initiatives
5. Other duties as directed.

Common tasks of the role will include,
Developing CAD models and drawings to requirements
Updating and developing process specifications, manuals and work instructions
Validating and organizing process tooling to requirements
Providing immediate daily support of production across the CSG Toronto Sites when required
Supervising and monitoring process trials and documenting results
Working with outside vendors
Performing geometric and process measurements and performing capability studies
REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor or Technical degree in engineering or an engineering related field
- A high level of technical acumen and the ability to understand complex engineering/scientific relationships.
- Technological aptitude to understand process tooling, equipment, instrumentation and data acquisition.
- Highly analytical and capable of analyzing datasets
- Basic project management skills (how to manage time, prioritize and organize travel and objectives etc)
- Ability to work independently with direction from senior team members
- Ability to lead / influence others without direct reporting responsibility (change management and strong interpersonal skills)
- Ability to communicate with a global network (organizational and cultural sensitivity)

- Ability to work office based 40%, and plant based 60% of the time. Ideal workday is 100% onsite in Rexdale/Vaughan facilities
