Processing Operator
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in a safe manner at all times
- Work and communicate effectively within the team environment
- Operate equipment within IPS standards
- Add and remove oil from fryers using proper oil handling procedures and prepare fryer boil-out
- Maintain consistent quality product through PAEs and weaklink execution
- Complete line start up and shut downs
- Observe Good Manufacturing Practices at all times
- Complete all required reports in an accurate and timely manner
- Sanitation of equipment as needed
- Complete detailed at the beginning of each shift and during line changeovers PSMs
- Execute and/or support with changeovers as required
- Other duties and/or roles as assigned during a scheduled shift (may include, but not limited to packing, sanitation, box making, carton sorting etc.)
- Input material usage into RTime at the appropriate time in the shift
- Collaborate with other operators and maintenance technicians to resolve operational or mechanical issues during the shift
- Evaluate product quality by attending wall meetings
- Maintain clean and neat working environment
- FCP Operator:
- Mix and transfer slurry seasoning batches at required frequency
- Complete seasoning tests at required frequency and adjust equipment as needed
- Mix cornmeal/Kurkure batches at required frequency and adjust as needed
- Complete moisture and bulk density tests on cornmeal at required frequency
- MSV Operator:
- Operate kettle fryers by following SOPs for setting batch and fryer parameters
- Maintain top product quality by troubleshooting production problems (batch size, temperature, batch times etc.)
- Scrape kettles at required frequency
- Complete PAEs at required frequency
- Change slicer blades at required frequency
- PC Operator
- Operate continuous feed fryer by following SOPs for setting fryer temperature, belt speeds, etc.
- Maintain top product quality by troubleshooting production problems (moisture, product quality, etc.)
- Change slicer heads and blades at required frequency
- Complete dwell time, good-in-bad, in-bag tests, etc. at required frequency
- Complete PAEs at required frequency
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma required
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees in packaging, processing, receiving and other areas in the plant
- Previous manufacturing/operating experience and knowledge would be an asset
- Basic computer skills and experience with MS Office would be an asset
- Problem solving/troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, organizational skills
