JOB DESCRIPTION

Role and Responsibilities

• Pick up documents from drop box or print documents from personal printer
• Service in town and out of town
• Same day email update reports including photos, time, date and details
• Dropping off files at end of shift
• The following day of service you must be available to sign Affidavits of Service or Affidavits of Attempted Service
• Occasionally arrange meetings for service
• Prepare and submit an invoice for pay every two weeks
• Occasional Court Filing
• Google and social media searches
• Must supply envelopes for service

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• Lives in Barrie, ON
• Must understand how to properly serve Small Claims Court, Family Court, and Civil documents.
• Reliable vehicle with snow tires
• Cell phone with good camera
• Must be available to work Saturday or Sunday
• Must be available to work until 9:00pm
• Available on short notice

Preferred Skills

• Skilled at writing detailed reports
• Excellent time management skills
• Remaining calm, respectful, and pleasant during service of documents

Additional Notes

We are willing to do some unpaid training however we do expect you to know the Rules on how to serve documents regarding the Small Claims Court, Family Court, and Civil Court in Ontario. If you are not familiar with how to serve these documents, please do your research because you will be asked questions on how to serve certain documents during the interview. Appropriate attire is required for service and court filing documents.

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Salary: $17.00-$110.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week
