Procurement and Expediting Coordinator
Our company is searching for experienced candidates for the position of Procurement Coordinator related to the Surface Care & Maintenance of the Giant Mine site.
Responsibilities for Procurement Coordinator
- As a federally funded project, integrate the applicable procurement principles of the Financial Administration Act into the procurement systems, procedures, and processes
- Efficiently complete procurement activities, including but not limited to getting quotes for equipment/services, placing orders, coordinating deliveries, ensuring compliance with contracts in advance of approving payment release.
- Prepare and maintain Purchase Order logs and multiple reports directly related to the procurement status, including, but not limited to tracking and Expediting.
- Maintain good client relationships and client confidence
- Train new team members
- Document and implement process improvements
- Consolidate detailed databases into clear tables for business analysis
- Prepare timesheets, scanning, photocopying, filing, labels, folders
- Process purchase orders for indirect materials procured
- Work with the Accounts Payable team and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Coordinate outputs within a busy department environment
Qualifications
- Must have two years of demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Post-secondary Education (college diploma or bachelor’s degree) or equivalent qualifications through direct experience
Skills
- Computer skills most notably in PDF editing/processing, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word (mandatory).
- Experience with procurement programs would be considered an asset. ie: SAP, Oracle, Jonas (preferred)
- Must be organized self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- PDF editing/processing skills
Hours of Work and Location
- This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday - 40 hours a week) in an office setting at the Giant Mine Site in Yellowknife, NT.
