Position Overview
You’re ready to take on the challenge of leading the procurement group to meet daily operational demands and support FortisBC in all aspects of procurement of goods and services.  Your razor-sharp attention to detail and tactical decision-making enables you to lead effectively, engage your team and colleagues to leverage your collective skills and achieve the best results. With your extensive experience and skillset, you’ll excel as our Procurement Supervisor, Operations. 
In this role, you’ll be responsible for supervising and providing leadership to a team of skilled resources to meet organizational demands related to procurement of goods and services to support all business units’ strategic outcomes with the appropriate procurement tools.
In this role, you will:
-Provide leadership in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of procurement practices.
-Provide process and quality oversight to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures, industry standards, applicable metrics, and service-level agreements. 
-Optimize resources and allocate, prioritize, and distribute workload to meet organizational demands and service level commitments with tight deadlines across multiple business units.
-Contribute to selecting, orientating, and training new employees, and provide coaching to support performance, quality of work, and ongoing training and development of staff.
-Assist with the development and execution of annual objectives, deliverables, and work plans related to procurement processes.
-Manage operating budget as assigned, and provide budgetary information, as well as information on procurement activities and reporting.
What it takes:
-A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institution, plus a minimum of four (4) years of recent, related experience in a leadership capacity. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
-A designation in supply chain management would be an asset.
-Outstanding strategic-thinking skills to drive efficient delivery of resources and execution of projects.
-Clear communication, collaboration, attention to detail, sound judgment, strong inter-personal, organizational and teamwork skills, along with a positive attitude are essential attributes for success.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
