About The Role

Reporting to the Store Management and the Produce Manager, as Produce Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for daily leadership of the team, maintaining product department displays, providing excellent customer service, ensuring department cleanliness, ordering product, and providing daily support to our produce department.

Type: Full Time | Permanent

Schedule: Day Shifts | Afternoon Shifts | Between 6am to 8pm

Hours per Week: 40hours

Education: Highschool (preferred)

Your Impact

• Supervise and lead a team of produce department staff, providing guidance, training, and support.
• Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration among team members.
• Interact with customers, addressing inquiries, and providing information about produce items.
• Maintain the overall appearance of the department, including workstations and display cases.
• Ensure cases, displays, and tables are well-merchandised and properly signed to showcase quality.
• Implement effective merchandising strategies to maximize product visibility and sales.
• Inspect incoming produce shipments for quality and freshness, rejecting any substandard items.
• Ensure that the produce department adheres to health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of perishable items.
• Implement procedures to minimize shrinkage and loss due to spoilage or damage.

About You

• 3 years of previous experience in a produce department is required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of produce varieties, quality standards, and seasonal trends.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service and product quality.
• Must be able to lift thirty (30) pounds.
• Must be able to stand, lift, carry, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Available to work: days, evenings, weekends, and select holidays.
