Produce Buyer

The Produce Buyer is responsible for purchasing inventory for Fresh Choice's wholesale customers, and are responsible to make decisions that result in reliable in-stock position, quality and profitability. Responsibilities that are expected of this role:

• Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
• Making timely decisions on purchasing a variety of products.
• Organizing the logistics necessary to have the inventory arrive on time.
• Regular communication between departments any product knowledge and information.

Skills and requirements:

• Strong Communication skills are required.
• Ability to multi-task is required.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• A flexible schedule is required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs an asset.
• Experience with logistics an asset.
• Sales experience an asset.
• Creative thinking and problem solving is required.
• Strong time-management skills required.
• A background in fresh produce (retail or food service) an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
