Produce Department Manager

Freson Bros., an Alberta-owned and operated fresh food retail chain, invites entrepreneurial-minded individuals to apply for the Produce Department Manager position. The Produce Department Manager is an integral leadership role within the Freson Bros. (Fresh Market) - Peace River store and Freson Bros. company.
Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive Produce Department, grocery, or retail management experience
• A history of meeting financial objectives and targets in a Produce Department or a grocery environment
• Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Effective critical thinking and conflict resolution skills
• Strong Google Suite skills and the ability to quickly learn new computer programs
• A passion for leading and developing others
• Strong knowledge of retail operations, fresh food inventory management, and food safety regulations
• Comfortable working during peak food-retail hours (i.e. evenings, weekends, holidays)
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Role and Responsibilities:

• Lead Produce team in merchandising produce items for weekly, promotional, and seasonal displays
• Inventory Management through weekly ordering, record & invoice maintenance, and leading quarterly inventory counts
• Schedule Produce Team Members to ensure that production and customer needs are met
• Ensure company standards are met and department programs are followed
• Assist the Store Manager with recruiting while maintaining a high-performance work team
• Train, develop and motivate Produce Team Members
• Resolve customer and Produce department concerns and complaints, and provide a positive customer experience
• Champion the Freson Bros. Brand and culture by modeling our qualities of Drive, Integrity, and Growth

Position Details:

• Position Type: Full-Time
• Location: Peace River, Alberta
• Salary: $45,000-$55,000 / year
