Job description

Spudis looking for a full time Produce Team Member to join our team in Edmonton, AB (7039 68th Avenue). The schedule for this position is Tuesday to Friday, 7:30 am till 4:00 pm, and Saturday, 8:00 am till 4:30 pm.


As the produce expert, a Produce Team Member’s quality standards are exceptional! Produce Team Members are responsible for cleaning, weighing, trimming and portioning all of our produce, ensuring customers get the absolute best. Reports are generated to inform Produce Team of the daily pack line requirements – preppers work to provide prepared items in a timely fashion and based on those daily production requirements.


Produce Team works in an environment with large walk-in coolers, so being comfortable working in a cold environment on a daily basis is really important. Due to the nature of the SPUD distribution center environment, all Team Members should be willing to jump in and help wherever necessary – sometimes this means helping Team Members with tasks not assigned to their usual positions.

Duties & Responsibilities:


Primary Tasks:

  • Prepare fruits and vegetables (weigh, clean, trim and portion) to ensure the freshest and best quality produce on a daily basis.
  • Report any quality issues to produce leaders – shortages, poor quality, etc.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies (bags, tape, clam shells, trays and lids) and report shortages to managers.
  • Stock produce line with prepped produce.
  • Keep prep area clean – regularly breaking down and removing cardboard, sweeping and mopping, removing empty bins and cases, wiping down counters and cleaning sinks.

Secondary Tasks:

  • Assist pack line team accurately pack customer orders on time, with close attention to detail, making their grocery dreams come true!
  • Conduct daily inventory counts.
  • Experience working with produce is preferred.
  • Experience in a warehouse setting and/or within the grocery industry would be terrific!
  • Prep experience is an asset.
  • Punctuality and productivity.
  • Ability to make quick quality decisions.
  • Team spirit and willingness to work together.
  • Enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude!

Physical demands & working conditions:

  • Must be able to stand on their feet for entire shifts, lifting up to 50 lbs continuously
  • Must be able to work for extended periods of time, and entire shifts in our walk-in refrigerated produce coolers
