BBI Group is recruiting for a driven, energetic, and team-oriented Product Advisor to join our dynamic team to help expand our global sales efforts.
As a Product Advisor, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of sales and business development activity, with a focus on selling aquaculture and commercial fishing equipment. This includes all of our in-house manufactured product lines – OysterGro, BBI Marine and AquaFab. With a rich 50-year history in the commercial fishing and aquaculture industries, we are looking to build upon our great reputation and expand our customer network.
The position will be based out of BBI’s manufacturing facility in Saint Edouard de Kent, New Brunswick. However, some periodic travel will be required to visit clients and attend trade shows both domestically and internationally. This is a hands-on sales position offering competitive compensation based on your experience, paid vacation and benefits plan – including health, dental and RRSP matching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and networking
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential clients
- Collaborate with internal production & inventory teams to ensure smooth order processing and delivery
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities to identify potential sales opportunities
- Tactfully and professionally negotiate with customers to successfully close deals and secure client accounts
- Actively participate in company social media and marketing efforts
- Advise customers on additional options or parts that may be beneficial to their operations
- Attend trade shows, demonstrations, and client site visits to share the operational methods of our product lines
- Communicate with customers via phone and email
- Conduct follow-ups with customers on orders, quotes, and best-practice operational support
- Assist with other duties as required
Your Key Attributes:
- You are dependable and a self-motivated team player with the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively
- 2+ years experience in a similar role, ideally in a comparable industry selling products that require after sales operational support (agricultural, marine, industrial, machinery, etc.).
- College diploma or University degree in a related field (business, marketing, etc.) is an asset
- Bilingualism is an asset (French and English)
- Prior experience in Aquaculture & Commercial Fishing equipment sales is a strong asset
- Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Work well both as a member of a team and individually with minimal supervision
- You work well under pressure and are able to manage your time and priorities effectively
- Ability to travel when required both locally and internationally (occasionally)
- Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
