What you’ll do
It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:
-This position is accountable implementing TJX Canada’s Product Development strategy for seasonal trend and general products, combining market knowledge and experience in home merchandise to drive business objectives to improve quality of imports, production and close outs for merchants

-Design seasonal trends and general products, developing related sourcing packs that aligns with off price model and merchant objectives
-Researches, analyzes and provides input on market trends for style, color and fabric selection process for private label brand strategy; attends domestic and international trade shows, competitive shops to keep abreast of product trends and industry best practices
-Participates in competitive shop planning and sample display presentations; leverages information from process to support research on trends and requirements
-Collaborates closely with business partners and vendors/agents to develop new concept samples; reviews vendor submissions to ensure styling is consistent with current market trends and compliant with established product standards; provides direction on color corrections, strike offs, product components and samples
-Participates on global Product Development teams to learn and share trends and perspectives as relates to home fashion;
identifies and leverage opportunities such as category trends to leverage and align where applicable
 
What you’ll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:

-Post-secondary degree in related field or the equivalent in job experience
-Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Retail Merchandising, preferably with experience in off-price retail and product concept and development experience
-Strong sense of fashion and color sense in home trends and product design
-Advanced computer skills in Adobe Creative Suite CC –Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
-Highly advanced understanding of product design, design principles and best-practices; high level of aesthetics vision with an excellent design sense with experience
