The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Product Innovation Analyst to lead the product development on both our transactional (digital) and advisory (non-digital) platforms at SPGC . Reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer, the ideal candidate possesses a strong background in product procurement and a minimum of 3 years in property and casualty underwriting or brokering. While product management experience is preferred, emphasis is on finding a candidate with a robust foundation in both product management and underwriting, coupled with strong analytical skills. On the digital product side, this pivotal role involves crafting underwriting specifications for the portal's front-end design, coordinating back-end connections with our Technology Operations team and the policy management system, conducting user testing, and overseeing comprehensive project management for each digital product.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Front-End Design Specifications:
  • Collaborate with third-party online portal developers to draft detailed specifications for the digital product's front-end design.
  • Back-End Coordination:
  • Ensure seamless back-end connections with our Technology Operations team and the policy management system, facilitating efficient data flow and system integration.
  • User Testing and Feedback:
  • Incorporate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) responsibilities into the overall project management scope, ensuring underwriting experts conduct thorough UAT. Ensure the completion of UAT as part of the project management and oversight process.
  • User Experience Enhancement:
  • Design and elevate the user experience of the online portal, incorporating best practices in usability and customer-focused design.
  • Project Management:
  • Oversee project management for each digital product, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and fostering effective collaboration across teams.
  • Act as the primary lead for Specialty Programs Group Canada with our portal system developer, managing project interactions with all teams.
  • Collaboration with Underwriting Leaders:
  • Collaborate closely with individual insurance segment underwriting leaders to decipher unique requirements and translate them into digital product features. Focus on requirements gathering rather than UAT.
  • Collaboration with Sales and Marketing:
  • Partner with our Sales and Marketing team to launch new products and enhancements on the portal, aligning with marketing strategies.
  • Bespoke Digital Products:
  • Lead the design and deployment of tailored digital products on the company portal, meeting the specific needs of diverse insurance segments.

This is a hybrid position for people located within commuting distance of downtown Vancouver.
