Product Packer

Industrial Packer
This is an entry level position with opportunity for growth.

Starting rate $19.40 per hour and increasing to $20.43 after 3 months.

• Package product per priority sequence given by a Supervisor or Lead hand, ensuring correct labels are attached and check for mixed parts.
• Set up packaging equipment automatic counters for each product packaged.
• Complete paperwork associated with packaging such as packaging checklists, travelers and packaging logs.
• Assist Product Logistics Coordinator as needed to ensure packaging line is fed with product and material. (May require operation of lift trucks and conduct of associated inspections).
• Any other duties as assigned by the Lead Hand, or Supervisor.

General Qualifications/Required Skills:

• Able set up and run packaging equipment
• Able to use counting devices such as weigh scales.
• Operate and perform checks of material handling equipment such as lift trucks.
• Positive employment record

Specific Formal Training, Certificates, Designations, Requirements or Licenses Required for the Position:

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent as determined by management.
• Certified forklift operator

Specific Safety Related Requirements for the Position:

• Adherence to plant safety rules
• Ensuring waste is disposed properly
• Following safe practices associated with machines and equipment.
