Job description

Job Description – Production Administrator

Reporting to the Purchasing and Inventory Manager, the Production Administrator will identify the root causes of errors and discrepancies between drafting, sales and inventory levels. Work closely with purchasing to ensure all custom parts have been ordered and arrive on time. Coordinate with Team Managers to make sure custom parts required can be made and shipped as necessary.

Job Duties

  • Develop and improve the integrity of the internal MRP to ensure accurate release requirement timing
  • Drive the daily diagnostics of inventory, and root causes of errors
  • Make inventory adjustments as required
  • Work with Project coordinators to correct any discrepancies between drafting and sales
  • Coordinate with Team Managers to ensure custom parts required by other locations are produced and are shipped accordingly
  • Communicate with other locations to provide updates on Bill of Material changes, or changes related to engineering change orders.
  • Review and investigate inventory discrepancies
  • Effectively communicate inventory updates and concerns on a timely basis with internal departments and coordinate necessary action plans with affected departments
  • Formulate a forward plan of requirements based on historical information (seasonality of parts)
  • Reconcile serialized inventory
  • Create custom Bill of Material for products in a timely fashion
  • Input and execute the Material requirement planning(MRP) daily
  • Understand, and develop the release and scheduling of components utilizing the MRP system
  • Update parts in system based on engineering change orders
  • Review production schedule and print work orders for specific weeks
  • Communicate with purchasing on stationing and inventory adjustments of raw materials
  • Assist with yearly inventory count
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements
  • Grade twelve (12) secondary school diploma
  • Post-secondary education in inventory management is an asset
  • Experience in inventory control an asset
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and related production software

Working Conditions

  • Physical ability to lift 25lbs.
  • Ability to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
