Job description

Central Precast is a precast concrete manufacturer based in Ottawa, Ontario and is part of The Precast Group which is the largest precast concrete products producer in Eastern Ontario. This includes the manufacturing of architectural panel products, utility products, manholes, concrete poles, and distribution of landscape products. The Precast Group has three manufacturing operations: Central Precast, M Con Products and Utility Structures Inc. Our mission is to meet the demands of our customers and employees, under a safe working environment, where service and quality are at the forefront. We have an immediate opening for a Production and Purchasing Coordinatorresponsible for procuring raw materials and supplies for the plant and coordinating all manufacturing with the plant and the production team, to ensure all products are produced on time, maximizing process efficiencies and meeting customer demand.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and release of vendor materials to meet daily production schedules
  • Determining and modifying production schedules with the production team, plant, and deadlines
  • Directly influence weekly and long-term production requirements through the daily analysis ofcustomer releases
  • Analyze and coordinate standard and customized job orders to ensure all requirements are up to date and scheduled.
  • Complete production work orders - from material take-off through manufacturing to shipping
  • Review, coordinate, expedite flow of materials through the manufacturing process in accordance with Production and shipping schedules.
  • Process daily shipment reports, issue materials to production floor and maintain material traceability
  • Provide feedback to production personnel regarding quality improvements.
  • Procurement of all raw materials and supplies, in the required quantities and in accordance with the prescribed raw material and supply specifications
  • Managing inventory stock levels by introducing and applying required inventory control techniques
  • Developing and maintaining weekly and daily shipping schedules for all customers and vendors
  • Respond promptly to all customer inquiries and liaise with contractor, consultants and agencies
  • Monitor and record incoming and outgoing shipments, inspecting and verifying goods against invoices or other documents
  • Assist with investigations of inventory shortages and discrepancies.
  • Interface with all departments to ensure that all inventory/material requests are filled in a timelyand accurate manner.
  • Perform cycle counts and physical inventories as required to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Respond promptly to all customer inquiries and resolve customer issues.
  • Processing, tracking and coordination of customer orders, forms, transactions and requests

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education with a focus on Materials Management, and Inventory Control
  • Min. of 3 yrs. experience in Materials Management or Inventory Control, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Bilingual (English & French) is an asset.
  • Proven knowledge of inventory management procedures and general warehousing practices
  • Ability to read forms such as invoices, parts order forms, packing slips and bills of lading
  • Proven customer service orientation with a positive and professional attitude with customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Experience reading production drawings
  • Proficiency with CAD systems are an asset

Compensation Offer

  • Salary Range: $55,000-$70,000 annual, based on experience
  • Permanent, Full-time, 42.5 hours/week
  • Located in Ottawa, Ontario
