Job Overview:
- Effectively communicating with technical and production staff
- Producing weldments to specification, using shop drawings and instructions
- Maintain a safe and neat work environment
Requirements:
- Perform all welding operations
- Read and understand shop drawings and instructions
- Understand how to use and care for jigs
- Use hand power tools
- Recognize material sizes and specifications of raw and in-process product
- Accurately complete time records and work orders
- Be a positive team player
- Work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work safely
- Punctuality and maintain good attendance
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to understand production machines such as mills, grinders, lathes, drill presses, forklift, overhead cranes, sanders and saws
- Ability to spot potential safety problems and recommend corrective action
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
- Physically and visually demanding work
- Decision making skills
- Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills in English
- Forklift Operator Certification an asset
