Reporting To: IBP Specialist/Customer Service Manager
Position Summary:
Reporting to the IBP Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and managing the multi-week production schedule. Working alongside the Production Manager, production supervisors, formulators, sales and outbound logistic, you will update the schedule daily based on downtime, potential issues, or production delays. You will be an integral part of the IBP process and IBP team.
As the Production Planner, your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Create the multi week production schedule for maximum through-put/efficiency as well as minimum down time.
- Schedule and plan production requirements in M3, SWB and other scheduling systems.
- Review of forecast daily and consolidating the orders.
- Arrange orders for production, considering specified delivery times, available machine capacity, changeover requirement, most efficient run sizes and sequences.
- Closely coordinate with Inside Sales and Formulator to verify short term usage requirements.
- Participate in daily alignment meeting with sales, formulator, inbound and outbound logistics team members in order to coordinate and prioritize planning activities accordingly.
- Participate in monthly IBP cycle meetings and mid term planning, including Scenario planning based on raw material challenges, production shutdowns and maintenance activities.
- Create rough cut capacity mid term and based on 15 month rolling forecast.
- Create, analyze, and monitor KPIs for planning. Develop new KPIs based on the corrective action plans and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in Integration Business Planning (IBP) meetings and report production scheduling and capacity planning data.
- Participate in demand review planning activities with sales and uploading DMP in M3.
- Coordinate and investigate with Inside Sales and Warehouse Manager to manage and clear aging finish products.
Qualifications:
- Willingness and aptitude for learning new skills
- Experience in a production planning role an asset
- Experience in inside sales or customer service role considered an asset
- Ability to work towards a sponsored CPIM or CSCP certification, as required
- Working with an M3 or SAP system, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Skilled with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good knowledge of Power BI report
- Experience with CRM software
- Passionate about providing value to the customer.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle high volume of data with accuracy.
- Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment.
- Adaptable and flexible to a changing environment.
- Ability to work with other departments and to communicate properly and effectively
