Purpose of Role

 

 

  • Provides analytical and project management data support for various programs, studies and projects of significant strategic importance to the company to ensure that these initiatives are delivered safely, on-time, and on-budget.
  • Contributes to the success of each initiative by combining superior organization skills, judgment, and subject matter expertise.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to enhance the Company’s project delivery effectiveness through simplification and automation of various Project Services processes. 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

 

General

  • Adheres to Kinross Project Management Standards and policies.
  • Actively seeks mentorship and learning to further develop knowledge and skills.
  • Data analysis skills.


Documentation and Document Control

  • Develops, implements and sustains corporate processes, systems, and tools used for document control and information management.
  • Works with IT, Finance, other corporate support functions to improve the use of SharePoint, Power BI, and other corporate systems and tools.
  • Maintain SharePoint sites.
  • Receive and distribute Documents for Review.
  • Report Documentation and Review Status in SharePoint, Collect and assess process efficiency data.
  • Follow up delayed Documents.
  • Onboards, manages, and offboards external business partners’ document control personnel during various phases of the project life cycle.  

 

Project Services

  • Support to Develop reporting mechanisms, dashboards, and presentations key performance indicators.
  • Is the business process representative regarding the management of Project Services data. 
  • Escalates problems of high complexity or risk in a timely fashion.

 

Scheduling

  • Works with Project teams to develop project schedules and baselines using standard tools within prescribed parameters
  • Maintain, update and status schedules
  • Collect and assess schedule performance data  

 

Cost Control

  • Track potential changes, ensuring estimates of cost and schedule changes are given visibility with the client and project management. 
  • Facilitate processing invoices and payments.
  • Collect and assess cost performance data.

 

 

Required Qualifications

 

Education

  • Post secondary qualification in computer sciences, business administration, engineering, or a related field OR equivalent combination of training, education, and relevant experience.
  • Formal training in one or more of: SharePoint, Power BI, MS Project, or Primavera is highly desirable.

 

Experience

  • Three or more years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in the heavy industries like as mining, Oil & Gas, Energy, construction, , or major consultancy is strongly preferred.

 

Other Qualifications and Skills

 

  • Knowledgeable with standard industry approaches regarding the management and delivery of large capital projects in heavy industrial context.
  • Highly collaborative work style, ability to work with project, technical and financial leaders.
  • Ability to be self-directed and work well in dynamic/unstructured environments.
  • Superior time-management skills and is able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient with modern information management tools such as SharePoint and Power BI.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service.
  • Effective in working diplomatically across teams with varying objectives and priorities.
