About this Opportunity:

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of construction projects occurring within the division. The Project Manager will ensure goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed schedules and budgets by fulfilling the below job description.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Manage project activities throughout lifecycle, including project scope, allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success.
  • Ensure project specifications and contact requirements are being met.
  • Plan project timelines, milestones, and deliverables using the appropriate software tools and/or methods based on project specific requirements
  • Obtain required resources both internally and externally.
  • Track project progress and report to stakeholders and management.
  • Identifies and manages opportunities and risks to achieve the best possible impact on schedule and financial targets
  • Maintains, tracks and reports all financial aspects of project including forecasts and billings
  • Manages the procurement process including subcontractor/trade/supplier negotiations and awards.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associate work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk.
  • Conduct project post mortems in order to identify areas for improvement; make recommendations based on findings.
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are met at all times.
  • Prepare progress claim packages for submission.
  • Process subcontractor progress claims and invoices.
  • Lead Project Progress Meetings.
  • Work with General Manager on bid packages, project estimates and tender submissions.
  • Monitor sites and contacts for future bid opportunities.
  • Develop form factors for routine operations throughout company.
  • Work in compliance with the company’s established policies and procedures and work in compliance with the applicable health and safety legislation.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of the Construction division procurement and project management.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Post Secondary Education in related field or 3 years experience in construction management or procurement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (excel, word, Microsoft Project)
  • Ability to read and analyze construction drawings
  • Effective communication (verbal & written)
  • Good judgment, sound decision making, motivated, self-directed
  • Professional work ethic, reliable, positive attitude
  • Strong leadership and relationship building skills, driven by success and company betterment
  • Valid G driver’s license

Expected Wage & Benefits:

Salary $65,000 to $100,000 based on experience and education. Competitive benefits package, RRSP matching.
