Position:Engineering Project Manager
Department: Engineering
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Job Objectives
This position is responsible to lead engineering-related projects, encompassing facilities and process development projects, providing superior technical knowledge. The incumbent will implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating installation and improvement of production lines, managing contractors and coordinating engineering input into Health, Safety and Environmental requirements. The Engineering Project Manager will assist with the development of capital plans for Ljunghall Canada Ltd. and will provide technical advice and assistance to the plant and develop key technical personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management
· Assist with new product development activities, from quotation to successful product launch
Facilities Engineering
· Manage, coordinate, and troubleshoot facility systems and any necessary external contractors/service providers
· Develop Building Automation System monitoring and reporting
· Conduct energy monitoring and management initiatives
· Develop work instructions
· Investigate new technologies for continuous improvement and energy savings
· Work with HSE-responsible staff to determine and address needs
Industrial Engineering
· Develop and optimize production line layouts
· Investigate methods/tools/systems to eliminate waste in current production lines
· Determine utility and integration needs for new equipment installations
· Assist with continuous improvement activities
· Assist with procurement and installation of new equipment
Process Engineering
· Develop and control key process characteristics for various production processes
· Investigate and recommend new technologies
· Develop and publish work instructions for various production processes (coordinate and support VSE in these activities)
· Assist in problem solving and developing root cause corrective actions to address quality and/or process issues
Health and Safety Responsibilities
· All required PPE while in plant
· Work safe & ergonomically by following Health and Safety policies
§ Enforce and promote workplace safety
§ Report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents across the plant
§ Identifies personal safety compliance or non-compliance by observing employees' use of protective equipment
Knowledge, Skills and Education
· Bachelor degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or related Engineering field or equivalent experience.
· P. Eng designation a definite asset.
· Comprehensive manufacturing engineering experiences, including standard developments, equipment justifications, plant layouts and facilities design in manufacturing industries.
· Knowledge of manufacturing standards and ISO/TS 16949, ISO9001, PPAP, FMEA, project management tools and techniques.
· Experiences managing portfolio of manufacturing engineering projects in a setting having Die Casting and CNC equipment, automation, and assembly producing finish product from concept/part print using casting and forge raw material
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Exercise sound judgment and leadership skills in making management decisions.
· A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
· An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.
· Strong organizational and planning skills.

Supervision of Others:
No direct reports, but will manage project teams for the successful execution of projects
Internal Contacts:
All plant departments.
External Contacts:
Customers, Suppliers and Service Agencies.
Spending Authority:
Within Budget expectations.
Decision Making Authority:
Advise (and if necessary instruct) management in areas relating to Engineering.
Amount of Direction Received:
Works with Management to establish strategic direction of organization.

Salary: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
