The Penny team is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and driven individual with a proven track-record to join our Implementation team. As a Project Manager II, you will play a key role in the installation of new equipment into our CO's to support migrations. You will also help implement our consolidation plans in our hybrid CO's to maximize the amount of copper equipment we can decommission. In this role, you will collaborate across business units, and with key stakeholders to execute on initiatives with high complexity and business impact. Your expertise will help us drive innovation and continuous improvement across copper retirement as we deliver on our objectives.
Reporting to the Manager, Penny Implementation, this position is accountable for end to end project delivery, within a highly collaborative and capable group of team members. In this role you will:
- Work in partnership with the planning, design and build teams to project manage the installation of devices such as Ion Shelves into our CO's
- Using your project management expertise, you will enable cross-functional teams to deliver on our CO Copper Consolidation plans. By moving copper circuits from multiple devices to a single device in our hybrid CO's
Project Penny is the TELUS-wide program envelope for copper retirement activities. Penny will address network optimization with the goal to eliminate dual support cost structures between our Copper and Fibre networks, fully unleashing the benefits of our generational investment in our PureFibre network. What YOU bring:
- Experience managing large scale projects with multiple stakeholder groups
- Experience dealing with ambiguous requirements and translating them into concrete project outcomes
- Agile project management experience (Scrum/ Kanban environments) is an asset
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, negotiation, communication and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills - you can translate complex technical topics into easily understood concepts for our stakeholders and team members
- Highly motivated, creative and self-sufficient with the ability to work successfully under pressure
- Minimum 3-5 years work experience managing projects or leading cross functional teams
- Stakeholder management experience including directors is an asset
