Job description

The Antigonish Women’s Resource Centre& Sexual Assault Services Association is accepting applications for a Provincial Expansion Coordinator for the Healthy Relationships for Youth Program—a school-based, peer-facilitated, violence prevention program offered in schools throughout the province of Nova Scotia. With new funding, the HRY program is in a position to expand province-wide, and we are seeking a person to lead the expansion. The Provincial Expansion Coordinator will work with the Provincial HRY Coordinator, the Regional Coordinators in the regional centres for education and the conseil scolaire acadien provincial, as well as other partners throughout the province to ensure the delivery of the HRY program in participating schools.

The Provincial Expansion Coordinator will be responsible for the overall co-ordination of the delivery of the HRY program. Specifically, this will include:

· re-establishing relationships with schools and regions that have participated in HRY in the past but stopped due to Covid

· promoting the HRY program in schools and regions of the province that have not participated in HRY in the past

· overseeing the coordination of the HRY program in communities with schools outside the Strait Regional Centre for Education district

· co-chairing regular meetings of the regional coordinators with the Provincial HRY Coordinator

· working closely with regional coordinators and Provincial HRY Coordinator to revise curriculum, resource, and presentation materials

· fostering and maintaining positive working relationships with appropriate school personnel and program partners

· keeping project costs within the approved budget

· providing monthly and annual program progress reports, as well as a final project report acceptable to the funders, the Executive Director, and the AWRCSASA Board of Directors

The Provincial Expansion Coordinator will also work closely with the Provincial HRY Coordinator to:

· organize training sessions for regional coordinators

· recruit for, support, and co-facilitate meetings of the Provincial Advisory Committee

· develop detailed work plans and time frames for program coordination

· coordinate program evaluation

· provide support to Regional Coordinators

· seek funding opportunities and develop grant proposals for continuing the program

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

· an undergraduate degree in Education, Women’s Studies, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience.

· experience with program coordination, participatory facilitation, and youth work

· a feminist and culturally relevant analysis of violence prevention

· experience with anti-racism work and understanding of systemic racism and its impacts

· excellent organizational skills

· strong report writing skills and excellent inter-personal communication and networking skills

· proven ability to work independently, to take initiative, and to be accountable

Some travel and evening and weekend work will be required. This is a full time position (35 hours per week) for the duration of the funding (3 years), with the possibility of renewal pending funding. The successful candidate will be compensated at a rate of $27.00 per hour.
