Public Service Clerk (Permanent Part-Time)

POSITION: Public Service Clerk (Comp. #2024-35)

LOCATION: Plattsville Library Branch

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Permanent Part-time (6 hours per week)

REPORTING TO: Branch Supervisor

UNION AFFILIATION: Non-Union

WAGE RANGE: $24.55/hr - $30.69/hr.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As first-contact customer service representatives, Public Service Clerks are responsible for providing excellent customer service to all members of the community.

This position provides basic circulation, informational and technology support for customers; as well as literacy-based programs and activities to promote library services for all ages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Secondary school completion. Post-secondary education preferred.

• Experience providing customer service. Previous library experience is an asset.

• Ability to work with key stakeholders to deliver programs and services.

• Ability to show sensitivity and respect for all customers.

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to assess customer needs.

• Strong interpersonal and team-oriented workplace skills.

• Ability to learn new technologies and library computer systems.
