The Purchasing and Inventory Clerk is one of the most pivotal roles in Regina Housing's maintenance department. The Inventory Clerk ensures that all other staff members have the tools, supplies, and equipment they need to do their jobs safely, and effectively.
What you'll do:
take total control, and ownership over our warehouse facility. This includes being responsible for every supply that enters or exits the building through ordering, fulfilling requests and conducting inventory counts.
Customer service - our staff and contractors are your customers, and you'll ensure that they have the materials they need in a timely manner
Supply delivery to our field staff
What you'll need:
A class 5 driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. While we do have a dedicated vehicle for deliveries, we are not located on a convenient bus route and use of your own vehicle may be required on occasion (mileage is reimbursed).
And a combination of:
Purchasing, inventory and/or experience in the construction industry (ideally 3-5 years combined experience in these field)
Communication Skills: You are professional and friendly and can communicate effectively over the phone and over email
Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines and handling a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
Computer Skills: you are confident with all Microsoft products including Excel
Accountability and Ownership: The warehouse and everything inside it will be your responsibility - you take your job seriously and know how to make both short- and long-term plans to ensure that everything gets taken care of
