QC Laboratory Technician
Arbec Forest Products Inc. is looking for a Laboratory Technician at its Miramichi plant. Reporting to the Superintendent Technical Services, the incumbent performs tests at different levels of the production process on a regular or irregular basis in order to ensure quality control product.

Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and standards for safety, environment, quality, cost control and waste reduction.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools.
- Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times.
- Evaluate the quality of the product and flag any data regarding defects or anomalies.
- Investigate any identified anomalies or deficiencies to identify root cause.
- Make recommendations to address quality issues.
- Collaborate with various departments with regards to production changes.
- Identify, record, and isolate product for re-verification.
- Ensures that operators conduct their recommended adjustments for proper functioning of production line and required product quality.
- Provides for the receipt of the raw material and ensures quality control of important chemicals (resin and wax) and materials.
- Work in collaboration with other departments to develop and certify new products and processes.
- Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring product quality.
- Undertake any other tasks as requested by the Technical Services Superintendent or designate.
Job Requirements
- University/College in forestry/quality or equivalent experience.
- Three years of related industrial experience.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Detail oriented and ability to ensure accuracy.
