Fred Welsh Ltd. team in conjunction with Trotter & Morton Ltd. (FWL-TM) is looking for a Quality Assurance Representative to join our team on site full time or part-time in Duncan, British Columbia. The Quality Assurance Representative is responsible for Quality Assurance and quality control on the Cowichan Hospital Redevelopment project.

This is an “Onsite” position that will be based in a construction site in Duncan, British Columbia.

Please note that this position does not include a living-out allowance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist, Project Managers
  • Prepare project specific Inspections and complete documentation.
  • Identify and record all non-conformances on job sites, determine and suggest disposition in consultation with Site Superintendent, and PM
  • Ensure all pertinent project work documents are completed and validated.
  • Interact with Project Manager/Site Superintendent/Foreman/Client’s Representative/Regulatory-Authorized Inspectors.
  • Analyse data, to identify areas for improvements in the quality system.
  • Monitor risk management activities
  • Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Review and understand scope of project work, client specifications and code of construction requirements. Interpret and implement Quality Assurance procedural requirements.

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Focus on continuous improvement, the ability to identify, recommend and implement solutions to gaps in current processes
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical construction drawings.

Required Experience and Education
  • Experience as a Quality Control/Quality Assurance professional,
  • Experience working on construction projects, with subcontractors, fabricators / manufacturers, suppliers and distributors
