Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated individual to join our team as a Quality Assurance Support. In this role, you will be an integral part of our Quality Assurance Department, ensuring the overall quality of products leaving our Ganong facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving product quality standards.


Responsibilities:


Quality Control:

  • Perform quality checks on raw materials and finished products, making decisions and solving problems based on findings.
  • Create and maintain Date Code Manuals.
  • Release products for shipping and complete associated paperwork.
  • Collect and send samples for analysis (raw and finished ingredients).
  • Track food safety and ingredient data.
  • Conduct "start and end of shift" product checks, including required paperwork and tests.


Training and Compliance:

  • Provide GMP, allergen, foreign material prevention, and HACCP training and coaching to employees.
  • Monitor GMPs and notify Supervisors if personnel are out of compliance.


Audits and Analysis:

  • Participate in customer complaint follow-up and root cause analysis.
  • Act as a backup for other QA positions.
  • Perform routinely scheduled factory audits.
  • Participate in internal & external audits (SQF, Customer audits, etc.).
  • Participate in mock recalls.


General:

  • Perform any other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in Microsoft Office programs and the ability to pass a competency test.
  • Computer skills are a necessity.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment; previous experience in food quality control is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes.
  • Strong skills in public speaking and training co-workers.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work within deadlines.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Versatile with the ability to work individually or within team environments and with all levels of management.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule on shifts.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.


Internal candidates must be meeting or exceeding expectations in their current role to be eligible for an internal transfer.
